Sarah Williamson is the Assistant Director of Administrative Operations in the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs at the University of Maryland, College Park. With over 10 years of experience, Sarah excels in orchestrating systems-oriented and student-centered processes. She manages the logistics and production of over 100 divisional and campus-wide events annually, serving a diverse audience that includes staff, student leaders, alumni, and donors.
Sarah's expertise extends to advising and developing student leaders, as she advises the Sigma Circle of Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) National Leadership Honor Society of which she was inducted into during the fall semester in 2021. She has served as Circle Co-Coordinator since the summer of 2022. She also spearheaded the management of the Student Crisis Fund, having successfully raised and allocated over $2.4 million to students in need. Her commitment to leadership is further demonstrated through her involvement in awarding scholarships and overseeing service and merit award processes for the Division of Student Affairs.
Before taking on her current role, Sarah served as a Resident Director at UMD, where she trained and supervised a team of Resident Assistants, managed crisis situations, and facilitated community development opportunities and educational experiences to promote community well-being. Earlier in her career, Sarah was a Conference Officer at The George Washington University, where she managed policy-related violations and facilitated training programs for civility educators. As a Graduate Assistant at Marymount University, she oversaw housing operations, coordinated room assignments, and developed training programs for student staff. Sarah's diverse experience in student affairs has equipped her with a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities in higher education.
Sarah holds a B.Ed. in Physical Education from Gonzaga University and an M.A. in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University. Originally from Minnesota, she has called Maryland home since 2011 and is proud to raise her daughter Sophia as a Terp!
